Artist Statement:Our collaborative project, Life is a Song, transforms a piano into a vibrant celebration of music, motion, and community. Using layered silhouettes of students, we created a dynamic composition that evokes the rhythm and flow of a song. Each overlapping shape was filled with warm or cool colors, symbolizing harmony and contrast, individuality and unity. The silhouettes suggest movement, like dancers caught mid-step, reflecting how music connects and energizes us. By using the human form in motion, we wanted to show how sound moves through people, how it shapes memory, emotion, and identity. The interplay of colors brings the piano to life, inviting viewers to not just hear music—but see it. This artwork is not only a visual representation of music, but a celebration of the students who inspire it. It’s a reminder that life, like music, is made richer through collaboration, creativity, and color. .
