Artist Statement: Before beginning this project I asked my students to come up with a word to describe the 2023-24 school year. We filtered through many words but the one we decided embodied our year was perseverance. This piano is a symbol that often hard roads lead to beautiful destinations. We decided to use a rainbow and the overall design idea with the intent that “All Rainbows come from rain.” This is the slogan or overall idea behind the piano. We enjoyed working on the tiny details, like the line work beneath the piano and the stars that are on the quote “Creativity unites us all. “ We also chose bright colors to bring a positive energy to the piano. This project was a great way to bring more student interaction and collaboration of ideas into the classroom. We hope you enjoy it!
