Artist Statement: Every year we here at Hale theme our pianos in styles of artists to make them more personal. This year's theme was heavily inspired by color field, mainly used by Paul Reed and Alma Thomas. We dedicated a day to map out the colors we wanted and which panel they’d go on. My name is Caitlin Lollis, I’m a senior here at Nathan Hale Highschool. This is my 7th piano, the first one I did was pop-art themed, with Bob Dylan, Leon Russel, and Woody Guthrie added into the artwork. These past four years and seven pianos, I’ve been able to explore multiple styles of artwork and painting, whilst also learning how to work with teams better. This year’s is by far my favorite and I’m so thankful to have these opportunities. Play Me Tulsa’s pianos have been the highlight of every school year, I love the program and hope other artists enjoy it as much as I have. Thank you to Play Me Tulsa!
