Artist Statement: This piece was inspired by Oklahoma state symbols, including the Scissor-tail Flycatcher, Black Swallowtail, and Mexican Free-Tailed Bat, as well as Tulsa's Blue Dome, Center of the Universe, and Riverside Park and Trails. We wanted to acknowledge the beauty of our state and our city while inviting you to contemplate the sounds that surround us every day.
