Artist Statement: Whim-si-cal: playfully quaint or fanciful, especially in an appealing and amusing way. Hoover Elementary’s piano this year represents the whimsical feeling that art can bring. Art allows the freedom to express oneself in a way that can be appealing in a variety of ways. It brings joy not only to the artist but also to others. The 4th and 5th grade Gifted and Talented students at Hoover enjoyed painting the “whimsical” shapes on the piano. It is our hope that our piano brings a feeling of playfulness and encourages others to be “quaint and fanciful”.
